No clue whatsoever what movie it is or what they're up to, but that hair says that's anil kapoor... I was thinking the other day while my mum watched some ancient hindi flick that starred (a very young) anil kapoor with (an even younger) saif ali khan, and I was wondering why anil kapoor was so consistently plain down the years... and how saif ali khan did something and became a 'khan'
I'm guessing the average age of the other commenters is about half of mine - which would explain why none of them has seen Jamai Raja.
The movie was made when the Anil-Madhuri combo was the hottest thing going, it had a very milfy Hema Malini in perhaps her first ever negative role.
Lots of hamming by Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik (they were kind of a Shakti Kapoor-Kader Khan alternative once). Their names in the movie - BBC and DDT! Go see it, it's actually fun.
Jamai raja is actually a remake of a Telugu movie starring Chiranjeevi (I think he is the fuggliest star in Indian cinema along with Govinda), which was first remade in Tamil with Rajani "Superstar" Kanth and then remade into Hindi. This film was released at the height of Anil Kapoor's stardom, with him being touted as the next Amitabh bachchan
I don't know the movie, but I'm guessing it has to be Anil Kapoor.
ReplyDeleteI too never saw heard of the movie. But it is obviously Anil kapur

ReplyDeleteDefinitely Anil Kapoor!
ReplyDeleteRenovatio - "becoming a Khan" is a great concept - the opposite of "jumping the shark"?
ReplyDeleteI didn't need the flaring roman headwear to know, his 'stache is more than enough.
ReplyDeleteNever seen him without his handlebar by the way.
