Too good to let pass.

I have no idea what film it is from. And I am dying to know.

My heartfelt thankyous go out to Kaddele from Missionbas.de for finding it.

Its a Telugu movie, I don't remember exactly but I think its 'Adavi Donga' (Forrest Thief!). Its something like Tarzan or Jungle Boy, but in this case he can sing and dance...
The actor is Chiranjeevi aka Mega Star(I call him Fugly Star) and the actress is Radha (my childhood crush). They both acted together in dozens of films.

My deepest sympathy to those folks in the background wearing those masks. You can almost hear them thinking "What the heck am I doing? At least my face is covered. That way my mother won't see me in this monstrosity."

The animal masks look strangely like the ones used in the 1972 film Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (featuring Fiona Fullerton, later of A View To A Kill, and Michael Crawford, later of Phantom of the Opera).

Creepily strangely like them. Except for the elephant head. Alice, unfortunately, never met an elephant.

ROFL!!!

Clearly, this entire segment was inspired by a drug induced haze.

You have no idea what you have given to my office folks! We totally laughed our asses off! :) Btw, did anyone notice the red and white outfit Chiranjeevi wore?

Pure genius. I'd like to know who performed the Herculean effort of stuffing Chiru into those pants.

I have not cried since I was a very, very young boy. But this, my dears, has made me weep with the unashamed abandon of a young child. Tonight, all is well in the world.

I like to think these are the very same background dancers who had to wear those baby blue leotards, pink capes, and black dress socks in Disco Dancer.

LOL. How do you find these videos!

The hero is "Chiranjeevi" the most popular Telugu hero and, at one point, the highest paid Indian actor. The heroine is Radha. Chiru and Radha have a lot of movies together in late 80s. So it's hard to figure out which movie this is. It could be "adavi donga" or "goonda".

Nice nostalgic find :)

WHile it's hard to choose, I think my favorite part is that the animal-headed actors' heads go through the weird backdrops! Not just dancing around in front of, but through! The elongated pompoms are also nice.

I just found a whole page devoted to Chiranjeevi, here is the addy for the movie this clip came from.

This guy has been in a TON of movies.
